CatRemarks:
Note card discovered along with Mosasaur specimen M.81.17.16 states that it was discovered in the same pit as a squid, however, I do not believe that the two specimens are in association with each other. Visual examination of Squid Specimen Q.81.02.16 produced a note card which stated that the Squid was discovered on 16 June 1981, while the note card discovered along with M.81.17.16 provides the later date of 7 July 1981. I believe that these two specimens just happened to be discovered in the same general pit, but not is association with one another. However, this is only the cataloguer's hunch, based on the two respective note cards, 27 years after the excavation of the two specimens.
