CatRemarks:
First squid fossil from the Boyne Member of the Carlile Formation ever accessioned into the CFDC collection. Discovered by CFDC Curator Anita-Maria Janzic. PaleoBond Stablizer applied to specimen in the field, Boyne matrix removed in lab with warm water and baking soda. Collected from lower in the Chalky Unit of the Boyne, in general vicinity of the lower "coquina beds" located lower in the section of the Upper Chalky Unit.
