While the specimen was collected from a gravel pit near Notre Dame, MB and thus not in-situ at the time of discovery, it is assumed that this specimen likely comes from the Boyne Member of the Carlile Formation as it is calcareous, reacting with 10% solution Hydrochloric Acid.

This specimen was donated to the CFDC by volunteer Linda Scott of Mowbray, Manitoba. She informed the cataloguer that the specimen came from a rock quarry near Notre Dame, Manitoba.
