Lost in the Museum

Being a visitor and an employee in a museum are different experiences. It’s like entering to a new realm where everything shifts from what you know to what you’re still going to learn. It’s a huge step. Before you were just on the surface but now you get to dive deeply into the pool of wonder.

I remember when I was still in the Philippines; I would go to different museums with my friends whenever we had free time after school. They were spontaneous trips where we’d just enjoy being together. We’d take a lot of pictures and share them on our social media accounts, appreciating what we saw in the museums we went to.

Now that I am here in Canada and working in a museum, I find it odd but in a good way because at this moment I get to learn and be involved in the process of what’s in a museum. I’ve seen while working in a museum how it affects other people. It’s like sharing the experience you had when you were once a visitor, wondering what it’s like to live in the past. It’s about the discoveries you find that will change your perspective on things and making you curious to keep on growing and learning.
